By accessing or using StoryBloc (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
Enabling World remix permission or receiving a remix grant requires your explicit ordinary acceptance of this exact version of the Terms, recorded by StoryBloc. A previous acceptance timestamp, signing in or continued use alone does not establish that versioned acceptance.
StoryBloc is a store and player for audio storytelling. The Service lets you browse and buy audiobooks, audio dramas and audiocomics, listen to and read what you have bought, keep a library of it across your devices, buy and spend coins, and hold conversations with AI characters drawn from those stories. Worlds & Adventures also supports playing, creating and explicitly sharing playable Adventures and Runs, including permitted derivatives. Features may change or be updated at any time without prior notice.
Worlds & Adventures lets creators build Worlds and Adventures and lets players create their own playable Runs. Ordinary character conversations remain private to your account. A Run remains private until you explicitly choose to share it; playing, buying or generating a Run does not publish it.
To access most features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. StoryBloc will not be liable for any losses caused by unauthorized use of your account.
You keep ownership of the rights you hold in what you write, including reviews, ratings, your own messages and your contributions to Adventures and Runs. By posting a review you grant StoryBloc a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display it alongside the title it reviews. Your ordinary character conversations are private to your account and are not published. Runs remain private until you explicitly choose to share them. By explicitly sharing or publishing your content, you grant StoryBloc a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce and distribute it for that feature. You are responsible for ensuring what you write is lawful and does not infringe anyone else’s rights.
A character’s replies are generated by software from a creator’s work and may be wrong. An ordinary character conversation does not grant rights in the underlying story, World or characters. Rights to create and distribute a permitted derivative Adventure depend on the recorded World remix grant described below.

The Service, and the source stories, audio, artwork and characters within it, remain the property of StoryBloc and the creators who licence to it. When you buy a title you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to listen to it and read it through StoryBloc. A purchase does not transfer ownership or by itself permit copying, downloading, sharing, broadcasting, reselling or making derivatives of the purchased work. A recorded World remix grant separately permits the specific derivative rights described below. Our trademarks may not be used in connection with any product or service without prior written consent.
A purchase or access to a story, World or Adventure does not by itself grant derivative rights. When a World owner enables remix permission under this version of the Terms, StoryBloc may record a grant for a specific derivative Adventure and its source version. That grant permits the derivative owner to create, publicly share, publish and monetize that derivative using the World material covered by the grant, only to the extent the World owner owns or controls those rights. You retain the rights you hold in your own contributions; a grant does not transfer ownership of the source work.
Disabling remix permission stops new grants, including grants for new descendants. A grant already recorded for an exact derivative remains valid for creating, sharing, publishing and selling that derivative after ordinary disablement. It cannot be reused for a different derivative or a new descendant. These rights remain subject to applicable law, rights restrictions, moderation and takedown.
A remix grant does not authorize access to or reproduction of private manuscripts, hidden World secrets, private conversations or another player's private Run. It does not grant rights in another player's contributions, voices, likenesses or other third-party material the World owner does not control. Source attribution recorded with the grant must be preserved when sharing, publishing or selling the derivative. These Terms do not require an upstream revenue split; any separate agreement you make remains your responsibility.
Certain features of the Service are available on a subscription basis. By selecting a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees as they become due. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Refunds are issued at our discretion and in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws.
The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. StoryBloc does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, StoryBloc and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notifying you by email. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
